About the Presenter

David Celani, Ph.D.

Dr. Celani (pronounced chill-AH-knee), is a psychologist with a specialty in treating clients with severe personality disorders. Dr. Celani has written three fascinating books on the subject:

Dr. Celani taught undergraduate abnormal psychology at the University of Vermont from 1976-1980. He taught in the graduate clinical psychology program at St. Michael’s College, Vermont, from 1981-1999. He has had numerous publications, including The Dynamics of the Battering Couple (1996) and Structural Sources of Resistance in Battered Women: A Fairbairnian Analysis (1998).

Dr. Celani received a B.A. from Rutgers in 1968, and a Ph.D. from the University of Vermont in 1974. Dr. Celani has been interviewed, among others, by Elle magazine, The Vermont Psychologist, Larry King Live and The Discovery Channel.

When O.J. Simpson was arrested Dr. Celani was invited to appear on Oprah, but he cancelled the day before because he had a fever. He has not been invited back.

Dr. Celani is an avid racecar driver (SCCA) for more than 25 years.
